ZEME is gaining momentum. Puls Biznesu takes a closer look at the company’s plans

We’ve been working with ZEME for over a year now. During that time, we’ve delivered a number of successful campaigns across business and industry media, covering topics ranging from technology and waste management to Poland’s deposit return scheme and the changes reshaping the retail market.

This time, we had the pleasure of communicating one of the most important milestones in the company’s growth. ZEME plans to invest around PLN 200 million in further acquisitions while preparing to enter the Brazilian market. The company’s ambitious plans were recently featured in Puls Biznesu.

ZEME accelerates its growth through acquisitions

ZEME is a Polish technology company specialising in comprehensive waste management for businesses, particularly large retail chains and manufacturing companies. It combines operational and logistics expertise with its own infrastructure and digital tools, helping clients manage waste processes across hundreds or even thousands of locations. The company has experienced a period of rapid growth. In 2025, it generated nearly PLN 62 million in revenue and expects to approach PLN 140 million in 2026. This year alone, ZEME is set to complete around one million waste collections. Its clients include Żabka, Eurocash, Carrefour, Dealz and Sephora.

In recent months, ZEME has completed two acquisitions, bringing companies specialising in hazardous and construction waste processing into the group. But this is only the beginning of a much broader market consolidation strategy.

Over the next three years, the company plans to invest approximately PLN 200 million in further acquisitions. It is currently looking for businesses operating in three key segments: construction waste, hazardous waste and biowaste.

First international destination: Brazil

ZEME’s ambitions extend far beyond the Polish market. The company is preparing for its first international acquisition, which is expected to open the door to Brazil. ZEME is already working with local industry advisers and evaluating potential acquisition targets in the states of São Paulo and Minas Gerais. Its first international transaction is planned for early 2027.

The expansion will be supported by the company’s growing technology infrastructure. ZEME’s digital ecosystem automates processes related to Poland’s BDO waste database, KPO and KEO documentation, environmental reporting, logistics, and the monitoring of recyclable material volumes and prices. The same technology can make it easier to integrate acquired companies and improve their operational efficiency.

Technology is transforming waste management

The Puls Biznesu feature presents ZEME not only as a company with an ambitious acquisition strategy, but also as a technology business operating in a market undergoing significant transformation.

New regulations, rising operating costs, growing ESG pressure and the development of Poland’s deposit return scheme mean that waste management is no longer treated solely as an administrative obligation. Increasingly, it is becoming an area that businesses can measure, automate and optimise - reducing costs while recovering value from recyclable materials.

This combination of technology, logistics and operational expertise provides the foundation for ZEME’s continued growth, both in Poland and across new international markets.

Great PR for technology companies starts with understanding the business

As a PR agency specialising in startups and technology companies, we know that effective communications go far beyond describing a product or distributing a press release. The most compelling stories emerge when a company’s plans are connected to the wider market context and when we can clearly show why they matter right now.

For ZEME, the starting point was not simply the announcement of a PLN 200 million acquisition budget. The ongoing consolidation of the waste management market, the role of technology in transforming the industry, the changes driven by the deposit return scheme and the international ambitions of a Polish company were all equally important parts of the story.

After more than a year of working together, we’re delighted to continue supporting ZEME as it enters the next stages of its growth - and to help its story reach Poland’s leading business media.
